This photo I found on the web, date unknown, looks identical to the 1950s "Casa Van Nest" estate near low tide – so identical I think it may even be the same place on "Millionaire's Mile" in "Old" Islamorada. Even the boat is similar, though it appears smaller.

Real 1950s Photo: Casa Van Nest

The b&w photo of my home in my early teens (click more icon) shows the dock I helped my Dad (Gene) and Granddad (Clint Sr., Van Nest) build, replacing an older dock. My boat is closest. My Dad's boat is tied up on the right side of the dock, ready for a couple of fishing guests to board. My granddad's boat, moored out to the left of the end of the dock, tethered like mine, is barely visible behind the 5th pylons and supports (from shore) of the dock.

(What appears to be a couple of shadow images in the right half of the photo are damage to the photograph.)
