akh 6th Eve

Renewed Family Nucleus – Resetting The World
ca. B.C.E. 2475
Reset

ä' blessed akh and his sons, granting them charge over all animals and plants for their consumption – but with the absolute restriction against consuming blood, which was regarded as the essence of the nëphësh – whether man or beast. This prohibition was punctuated by the imposition of capital punishment on anyone convicted of shedding human blood by murder.

The Bᵊrit akh

Then ä' announced that He had raised-up a bᵊrit with akh and his sons: that He would never again destroy the earth with a Ma•bul. And He assigned the rainbow as a sign of His bᵊrit with akh and his descendants.

Optional parental preparation:

  1. For adults and teaching older children: some rabbis, and an entire movement among goy•im, claim that the Bᵊrit akh provides "salvation." Yet, a close reading reveals that this bᵊrit provides only a promise that the earth will never again be wiped out by a ma•bul. The "Noahide" movement is based on trust in the claims of clerics instead of, and in contradiction (e.g., Dᵊvâr•im 13.1) to, Scripture.
  2. What are the differences between murder, manslaughter and "kill"? What does "premeditated" mean?
  3. What is the nëphësh?

Questions you might anticipate that your child might raise and be prepared to discuss:

  1. What is "reset"?
  2. What is murder?
  3. What is a nëphësh?
  4. Does my pet [do animals] have a nëphësh?
  5. What does having a nëphësh mean?
