Almond blossoms (La Palma, Canary Islands; photo Sheila M. Crosby) |
Make a Mᵊnor•âhꞋ with six branches, three branches on each side. Make it all one piece, gilded all over with pure gold – its base, its shaft, its goblets for olive-oil, its ornamental-buttons and its flowers.
Each of the six branches shall feature a series of three stems. Each stem shall culminate in a button topped with a flower-like goblet – shaped like an almond blossom. The second and third stem shall emanate from the goblet of the stem beneath, while the top goblet shall be to hold olive-oil.
The center shaft will require four series of stems crowned with matching goblets; a matching goblet under each branch. This shall all be one gilded work.
The top goblets shall be seven olive-oil lamps. Then the ko•han•imꞋ shall trim the seven oil-lamps, to illuminate it.
Optional parental preparation:
What does gilded mean?
What is a goblet? (show your Qi•dūshꞋ goblet).
Questions you might anticipate that your child might raise and be prepared to discuss:
What is olive-oil? What does it smell like? Taste like?
