This is the ùÑÇáÌÈú preceding, or falling on, PësꞋakh.
îÇìÀàÈëÄé â' ;ã'-ë"ã
The No•sakhꞋ Balad•iꞋ Ha•phᵊtâr•âhꞋ is the regular weekly selection. However, in 5770, Mo•rëshꞋët Âv•otꞋ joined the ShaꞋmi in following the Sᵊphârâd•iꞋ and Ash•kᵊnazꞋim traditions: îÇìÀàÈëÄé 3.4-24.
This Maph•tirꞋ and Ha•phᵊtâr•âhꞋ takes precedence over the weekly Maph•tirꞋ and Ha•phᵊtâr•âhꞋ.
(Note for advanced tal•mid•im′ : Because the îÇôèÄéø is not within the week's úÌåÉøÈä section, a second ñÅôÆø úÌåÉøÈä, previously scrolled to the îÇôèÄéø section, is brought out for the îÇôèÄéø. During the return of the 1st ñÅôÆø úÌåÉøÈä to the àÂøåÉï ÷ÉãÆùÑ and the bringing to the áÌÄéîÈä of the 2nd ñÅôÆø úÌåÉøÈä, úÌÀäÄìÌÄéí é"è is recited by the ÷ÀäÄìÌÈä.)

Pâ•suqꞋ 3.24:
One word describes today's Jewish community: fragmented. Ultra-Orthodoxy is fragmented. Non-Orthodoxy is fragmented. Non-religious are fragmented, assimilated and, in the Tᵊphutz•âhꞋ becoming dissipated. In-fighting and sniping between these countless factions and sects is beyond counting. It is no exaggeration to describe this as frequently between father and son. Another term which describes such extensive fracturization is shattered. The Jewish community has become self-shattered. Yet, still we survive. And how will we recognize Eil•i•yâhꞋu ha-Nâ•viꞋ? "He will return the heart of the fathers for the sons, and the heart of the sons for the fathers" (3.24). Eil•i•yâhꞋu ha-Nâ•viꞋ will have the formula for restoring the Jewish community to a state of wholeness as well as holiness.
On this ùÑÇáÌÈú it is customary to read the greater part of the Ha•gâd•âhꞋ during the îÄðÀçÈä service. A rav reviews the various instructions applicable to PësꞋakh and Khag ha-Matz•otꞋ, especially concerning ka•shᵊr•utꞋ. This is heavily attended by women and questions from the women's section, followed by clarifications from the rav, may predominate.
5757 (1997.04)
The name derives from the declaration in the Ha•phᵊtâr•âhꞋ (Malakhi 3.4-24): "Look, I Myself will send to you Eil•i•yâhꞋu ha-Nâ•viꞋ before the coming of the big and awesome day of é--ä." This is in accordance with the popular belief that the messianic redemption of Israel will occur in the same month as the deliverance from the Egyptian slavery (Ta•lᵊmudꞋ, Ma•sëkꞋët Rosh ha-Shân•âhꞋ 11a; "Shabbat ha-Gadol," Ency. Jud. 14.1217).
5755 (1995.04)
The Ha•phᵊtâr•âhꞋ selection begins "Then [lit. 'and']…" This should automatically prompt the question "When?"
To discover when, we backpedal to 3.1:
"Behold, I am sending îÇìÀàÈëÄé,
åÌôÄðÌÈä-ãÆøÆêÀ before Me; and suddenly, shall come àÆì-äÅéëÈìåÉ äÈàÈãåÉï, Whom you request. åÌîÇìÀàÇêÀ äÇáÌÀøÄéú whom you desire ,behold, he has come!," says é--ä öÀáÈàåÉú. But who îÀëÇìÀëÌÅì the day of his coming? And who shall be the ones standing when he appears?
åÀèÄäÇø Lᵊwi•yimꞋ in order that they may present to é--ä a îÄðÀçÈä áÌÄöÀãÈ÷Èä.
Then shall be fragrant for é--ä the îÄðÀçÇú éÀäåÌãÈä åÄéøÀåÌùÑÈìÈí;
As we detailed in the 94.07 issue of our newsletter, this Messianic Era has already commenced, heralded by the greatest astronomical phenomenon in recorded history. But, as in the days of NoꞋakh, most take no notice until it is too late (The Nᵊtzârim Reconstruction of Hebrew Matitᵊyâhu (NHM, in English) 24.37-38).
Most would agree that the Creator and Supreme Power in the universe is the same é--ä Whom îÇìÀàÈëÄé describes in 3.6: "I am é--ä. I do not change."
Since é--ä does not change, how can the religion He endorses change from úÌåÉøÈä to a new religion???
Can you not see that it's implacably contradictory for the Singularity-Creator, é--ä, to break His promises, to trash His own úÌåÉøÈä, change the laws (namely, úÌåÉøÈä to a contradictory "Διαθηκη Καινη (NT)" contrary to Dᵊvâr•imꞋ 13.1) and times — ùÑÇáÌÈú to sun-god-day, PësꞋakh to Ishtar (modern "Easter"; and the PësꞋakh seiꞋdër to a Hellenist "communion"), etc. Ta•na"khꞋ defines these as attributes of the "anti-Christ" in Dâniy•eilꞋ 7.25.
Moreover, think about it! If your ël•oh•imꞋ broke his promises to Yi•sᵊr•â•eilꞋ, then it is a self-contradicting, unreliable and capricious idol… and there's no reason to expect that your ël•oh•imꞋ won't break his promises to you too… whether you're Christian or Muslim!
It's impossible for é--ä, who doesn't change, to start a supersessive, displacement theology, contradictory new religion! And, if it wasn't é--ä who introduced Christianity, then who? And whom, then, are devotees to the new religion — and the even newer supersessive, displacement theology, contradictory religion of Islam — really following?
In 3.8, é--ä describes "cooking the books" (the withholding or artful diminution) of äÇîÌÇòÂùÒÅø åÀäÇúÌÀøåÌîÈä as äÂéÄ÷ÀáÌÇò Ël•oh•imꞋ, and ÷ÉáÀòÄéí, Him.
The descriptions in NHM of non-Jews in the bât•eiꞋ kᵊnësꞋët (synagogues filled with Jews, not Christian "churches" filled with fellow gentiles) clearly imply that these non-Jews were practitioners of úÌåÉøÈä — geir•imꞋ! (When was the last time you saw Christians populating the local Orthodox synagogue?) There was another popular designation for those who attended bât•eiꞋ kᵊnësꞋët: éÄøÀàÅé é--ä, which subsumed both Jews and geir•imꞋ.
îÇìÀàÈëÄé refers to the éÄøÀàÅé é--ä in 3.16, ñÅôÆø æÄëÌÈøåÉï was written before Him for the éÄøÀàÅé é--ä and those who meditated upon His Name. This scroll, also called the 'Scroll of Life' (corrupted to 'Book of Life'), was identified with the yo•khas•inꞋ, the public genealogical records that registered every Yᵊhud•iꞋ and geir for purposes of determining marriageability and the like. When the Romans destroyed the yo•khas•inꞋ, this evolved to become associated with the registries of the local bât•eiꞋ kᵊnësꞋët that since serve the same purpose. It is these (3.17) who shall be His on that day! Only in this context can 3.17-18 & 22 be appreciated. And only after all of this is 3.23-24 meaningful.
