As Dâ•widꞋ ha-MëlꞋëkh neared the end of his life, he commanded his son, ShᵊlomꞋoh, saying, "I'm going the dërꞋëkh of all hâ-ârꞋëtz. So you strengthen yourself and be a man. Watchguard the watch-shift of é‑‑ä your Ël•oh•imꞋ, to walk in His DërꞋëkh, to watchguard His Khuq•ōtꞋ, His Mi•tzᵊw•otꞋ, His Mi•shᵊpât•imꞋ and the testimonies of His eye-witnesses—as written in the Tor•âhꞋ of Mosh•ëhꞋ; so that you may be judicious with everything that you do and whichever direction you choose to go. So that é‑‑ä may establish His DᵊvarꞋ, which he spoke about me saying,
"If your children shall watchguard their dërꞋëkh, to walk according to ë•mëtꞋ with all of their heart and all of their nëphꞋësh, then you shall not have any man excised from upon the Seat of Yi•sᵊr•â•eilꞋ."

Then Dâ•widꞋ briefed his son on all of the different factions and parties in the Israeli government and his recommendations for how to handle them. Soon after, Dâ•widꞋ died and was buried in Ir Dâ•widꞋ, in the Capital, Yᵊru•shâ•laꞋyim.
So Dâ•widꞋ reigned over Yi•sᵊr•â•eilꞋ 40 years—7 years from Khë•vᵊr•onꞋ and then, ca. B.C.E. 1068, establishing his capital in Yᵊru•shâ•laꞋyim, where he reigned for 33 years.
Succeeding him, ShᵊlōmꞋōh Bën-Dâ•widꞋ reigned on the Seat of Dâ•widꞋ, his father, firmly establishing the kingdom of Yi•sᵊr•â•eilꞋ.
