Note that this instance in 1QIsa Yәsha•yâhꞋ u 52.15 (between ëéà and àùø) was lost by the time of Masoretic Text

The earlier wording, àú àùø, dictated that àùø be the object of the verb; i.e., him ["who wasn't reckoned to them"]), not the subject (who; a person rather than a neuter object). A priori, the subject must be who rather than it ("wasn't reckoned to them").

åÀðÄùÌÒÈàPronunciation Table [Updated: 2011.11.24]

wә-nis•âꞋ ; and [he/it] shall have been borne aloft, carried (niph•alꞋ  past 3rd pers. m.s. of ðùà; see also ñáìí).

åÀ + ðÄùÌÒÈà .

"Bearing" transgressions against Tor•âhꞋ  "aloft" referred to the sacrificial offerings, in which the transgressions "went up in smoke."

Modern Christianity applies the phrase "borne aloft" of transgressions to their Hellenist syncretized idol-on-the-cross, supposedly "bearing" the sin of the world (read goy•imꞋ  displacing Yi•sә•râ•eilꞋ ) "aloft" on the cross.

However, the Hebrew- (and Aramaic-) speaking Nәtzâr•imꞋ  and their fellow Pәrush•imꞋ  loathed, and didn't adopt anything Hellenist or Greek, from their Hellenist-Greek Tzәdoq•imꞋ  "Wicked Priests" — much less from the Hellenist-Greek Roman goy•imꞋ  (!) occupiers (who, by the way, executed RibꞋ i Yәho•shuꞋ a).

Moreover, even the earliest (post-135 C.E.) Hellenist Christians – Roman goy•imꞋ  – loathed the sign of the gruesome Roman execution and used only the sign of the fish: Greek Ιχθυς (Hellenist acronym for ιησους χριστος θεου υιος σωτηρ).

Not even goy•imꞋ  Roman Christians adopted the cross as "the sign" of their Hellenized "κθριος" until the 3rd–4th centuries C.E. The Christian perversion of this phrase to their Hellenist Zeus-on-a-stick idol is exclusively post-135 C.E., Hellenist Roman goy•imꞋ , has no legitimate pre-135 C.E. or Judaic origins and is, therefore, a•vod•âhꞋ  zâr•âhꞋ .

éÇæÌÆäPronunciation Table [Updated: 2011.11.24]

yaz•ëhꞋ ; he or it [viz., My worker, identified by the Tar•gumꞋ  as the Mâ•shiꞋ akh] shall {spatter, splash, sprinkle} (used especially of blood, oil or water) – hiph•ilꞋ  fu. 3rd pers. m.s. of ðæä.

The àáï ùåùï (A New Concordance) notes that this single instance is understood in the sense of spattering (flinging or squirting a liquid in a certain direction) or as a cook tosses (flips) a pancake or salad or flings sauce into a pot.

The only other instance of this word in Ta•na"khꞋ  – where it is given no anomalous meaning – is at wa-Yi•qәr•âꞋ  16.14: "He shall {spatter, fling, flip} seven times from the blood with his forefinger… (at the front of the Ka•porꞋ ët)"

The reasoning that "The goy•imꞋ  were appalled at Yi•sәr•â•eilꞋ , so Yi•sәr•â•eilꞋ  smeared the Mâ•shiꞋ akh [huh?!?], therefore, the Mâ•shiꞋ akh will spatter many goy•imꞋ " [huh?!?] is non sequitur. For the correct reasoning, see îùçúé.

îùçúé Pronunciation Table [Updated: 2011.11.24]

can be read in three ways, encoding the theme elaborated, just two decades later, by Zәkhar•yâhꞋ :

  1. îÀùÑÇçÅúÄé (mƏsha•kheit•iyꞋ ); from my {disfiguring, defacing, wrecking, deforming} of … [referring to the perverted idol-image of him]; prepositional prefix îÀ + gerund of ùÑÇçÅúÄ ‭ ‬ + 1st pers. pronominal suffix é.

  2. îÈùÑÇçÀúÄÌé (mâ•shakhꞋ әt•iy; I smeared [with olive-oil, ointment, salve, some kind of goop], smeared-over, anointed [the idol-image of him]; pa•alꞋ  past 1st pers. of îÈùÑÇç, to smear on, anoint – cf. Shәmu•eilꞋ  ÂlꞋ ëph 9.16 & Tәhil•imꞋ  89.21.

  3. îÄùÑÀçÇúÄé (mi•shƏkhat•iyꞋ ; "my goop" (ointment, cream); the substance smeared-on him, his anointing ointment), from îÄùÑÀçÈä (mish•khâhꞋ ; a neutral term describing a viscous substance smeared on [comparable to English "goop," which ranges from salve to ointment to paste to muck], usually requiring further specification, such as oil or olive-oil), derived from îÈùÑÇç, to smear-on, anoint. This noun must be ruled out because it would leave the sentence lacking a verb.

The unvowelled original text presents a double entendre play on words, lost in the later vowelized Masoretic Text, inherent in the word îùçúé:

  1. ëÌÇàÂùÑÆø ùÑÈîÀîåÌ îÅàÄéùÑ òÈìÆéëÈä øÇáÌÄéí (Just as the many were made desolate over you) to ëÌÅï îÀùÑÇçÅúÄé îÅàÄéùÑ îÇøÀàÅäåÌ åÀúåÉàÂøåÉ îÄáÌÀðÅé äÈàÈãÈí (so from my defacing of his image and his appearance more than any man) vs

  2. ëÌÅï îÈùÑÇçÀúÄÌé îÅàÄéùÑ îÇøÀàÅäåÌ åÀúåÉàÂøåÉ îÄáÌÀðÅé äÈàÈãÈí (I smeared-over his image and his appearance more than any man) to ëÌÅï éÇæÌÆä âÌåÉàÄéí øÇáÌÄéí òÈìÈéå (he will spatter many goy•imꞋ  over him)

shâ•mәm•uꞋ ; they were made desolate [over you] (pa•alꞋ  past 3rd pers. pl. of ùîí, which, according to Klein's (p. 666), is intransitive.

Being intransitive rules out the popular, agenda-driven non-sensical transitive renderings: "they desolated … over you…" or "he desolated him over you…" The oft-rendered "they desolated you," motivated entirely by the translators' agenda, defiantly contradicts both the preposition over you] and the intransitive nature of ùîí.

While ùîí is popularly translated as "astonished" (over you), this betrays linguistic laziness; failing to research the meaning of the term. ùîí is used in Scripture of mountains and land as well as people. Relative to land, it describes desolation – a devastated or barren wasteland, deserted, lonely and forlorn. This theme of ùîí transfers perfectly from land to people as desolate – devastated, forlorn, disconsolate, hopeless, inconsolable, emotionally and spiritually barren; a deserted human wasteland, disconsolate and inconsolable people drowning in hopelessness – desolate people.

wƏ-nâ•voz•eiꞋ hu; pa•alꞋ  fu. 1st pers. pl. of áææ; and we despoiled him.

åÇ + ðÈáåɿŠ+ äåÌ

Modern interpreters have been driven by agenda, "we can't have robbed the Mâ•shiꞋ akh!," rather than the inexorable grammatical constraints: the combination of the initial ð plus the conspicuous å in the middle of this verb dictates that it is the pa•alꞋ  fu. 1st pers. pl. of áææ (to despoil, plunder, pillage, rob), and cannot be derived from áæä (to despise).

After having exposed the correct verb, only then does the astonishing message come into focus, uncovering the çÂãÇì ("leaving behind" or "leaving alone" as a "nobody") of the Mâ•shiꞋ akh in verse 2 – by which (the idol-image counterfeit, the öåÉàÄéí-smeared garments of Zәkhar•yâhꞋ  3) åÀðÈáåÉæÅäåÌ (we robbed him) of his rightful personage as a Tor•âhꞋ -teaching RibꞋ i – and Mâ•shiꞋ akh.

mi-pәshâ•eiꞋ nu; from our rebellious-felonies.

îÄ + ôÌÀùÑÈòÅ + é + ðåÌ (derived from ôùò).

In Scripture, a ôÌÆùÑÇò is a rebellious-felony, against Tor•âhꞋ . A ôÌÆùÑÇò is a worse offense than a çÇèÌÈàú {khat•âtꞋ ; misstep {against Tor•âhꞋ }, popularly sin, in that the former is committed in a spirit of rebellion while the latter denotes an inadvertent tresspass {against Tor•âhꞋ } (Artscroll Beresheis, 1b.1363).

Ha•lâkh•âhꞋ  equates destroying one's reputation to murder and, therefore, remaining silent in the face of slander to standing idly by the blood of one's brother (wa-Yi•qәr•âꞋ  19.16). The rebellious felony is remaining silent after having learned that Christians have cloaked the Mâ•shiꞋ akh in the feculent garb of their Christian idol-image (Zәkhar•yâhꞋ  chap. 3), deceiving countless generations of the entire world into the idolatry of Hellenist-Christianity and their Jzeus

ðÄøÀôÌÈàPronunciation Table [Updated: 2011.12.21]

ni•rƏ; {he, it m.s.} was healed, cured, remedied, treated (niph•alꞋ  past 3rd pers. m.s. of øÈôÈà). The Masoretic Text vowelization precludes the popular but incorrect translation "we were healed." While this is a possible translation in 1QIsa, it is followed by "for us." The phrase "we were healed for us" is clearly nonsensical and wrong.

Possible translations of 1QIsa ðøôà ìðå

(Masoretic vowelization in red)

ôòì (pa•alꞋ )
ðÄøÀôÆÌà(fu. 1st pers. pl.)we shall heal/cure/recover/mendìÈðåÌ
ðôòì (niph•alꞋ )
ðÄøÀôÌÈà(past 3rd pers. m.s.)he/it was healed/cured, he/it recovered/recuperatedìÈðåÌ
ðÄøÀôÌÆà(pres. 1st pers. m.s.){I am, you are, he/it is} being healed/curedìÈðåÌ
ðÅøÈôÌÆà(fu. 1st pers. pl.)we shall be healed/curedìÈðåÌ
ôéòì (pi•eilꞋ )
ðÀøÇôÌÆà(fu. 1st pers. pl.)we shall cause [obj.] to heal/cure [obj.]ìÈðåÌ
ôåòì (pu•alꞋ )
ðÀøËôÌÆà(fu. 1st pers. pl.)we shall cause [obj.] to be healed/curedìÈðåÌ

{He, it} – 3rd pers. m.s. – can only be a m.s. n. cited in the context. The obvious, and correct, proximate m.s. n. is îåÌñÇø.

Therefore, the niph•alꞋ  (and Masoretic Text) should be read as: "In his bruise, [the chastening] was remedied for us."

There is no conversive å. This is past tense. This conclusion agrees with Masoretic Text.

All of the future instances can be ruled out since they all speak of "we shall heal ourselves" or "we shall be healed for ourselves"; making no sense. Two of the pres. tense possibilities are similarly ruled out: "I am being healed for ourselves" and "You are being healed for ourselves."

A priori, it must be read as the niph•alꞋ .

While ruled out for Masoretic Text vowelization, the third pres. tense possibility remains viable for 1QIsa: "In his bruise, [the chastening] is being remedied for us."

There is an interesting incrementing pattern in this pericope:

he (òÇáÀãÄé) bore aloft or carriedour illnessesour pains
we considered him (òÇáÀãÄé)plaguedstruck by Ël•oh•imꞋ held himself answerable
result to him (òÇáÀãÄé)he was made-unholy as a result of our rebellious-felonies against Tor•âhꞋ he was crushed as a result of our deliberate-misdemeanors against Tor•âhꞋ the chastening for our well-being is upon himin his bruise it was remedied for us

Trying to make òùéøéí singular to match also explains the erasure of the plural ending on òùéøéí. However, this term as a verb renders any resulting phrase grammatically non-sensical, lacking an essential preposition; implying that the redaction was improper and must be rejected.

Note must be taken here that (opposite to modern Hebrew letters) part of the ancient é could have worn away, leaving it appear to be a å when it was originally a é. In this ms., however, there appears to be no trace of the necessay line distinguishing the é from the å. Perhaps physics researchers may be able to answer this question using ultra-violet and other techniques. Until then, however, the available evidence indicates å.

Ha•lâkh•âhꞋ  equates destroying one's reputation to murder. It follows, therefore, that remaining silent in the face of slander constitutes standing idly by the blood of one's brother (wa-Yi•qәr•âꞋ  19.16). A conspicuous rebellious-felony has been remaining silent while Christians cloaked the an innocent historical RibꞋ i, a Tor•âhꞋ -teacher and Mâ•shiꞋ akh in the feculent garb of Christianity (Zәkhar•yâhꞋ  chap. 3), deceiving countless generations of the entire world into the idolatry of Hellenist-Christianity and their Jzeus

ya•phәgiꞋ a (hiph•ilꞋ  fu. 3rd pers. m.s.): "1 he caused to light upon; 2 he caused somebody to entreat; 3 he entreated, interceded, interposed, insisted." (A Comprehensive Etymological Dictionary of the Hebrew Language For Readers of English, p. 493).

A better term in English for "caused to light upon" is "imputed." Taking into account the connotations of "intercede" and "interpose," the combined concept is one of "interceding by imputing [something to "light upon"] something or someone else (e.g., upon himself). The context explicitly stipulated earlier (v. 6-11, particularly v. 6) "himself," rather than simply something or someone else. See the paradigm of Mosh•ëhꞋ  at Shәm•otꞋ  32.32.

53.12 – "Therefore, I will apportion to him among the masses and with the powers he shall apportion treasure for the reason that he risked his nëphꞋ ësh to the death and with the posh•imꞋ  he was reckoned and the kheit•imꞋ  of the masses he bore and for their posh•imꞋ  he interceded by imputing them upon himself."
