Πυρίτης Λίθος ("Fire Stone")—The God Stone

(FeS2, iron disulfide—Pyrite)

Iron Pyrite (FeS2, iron disulfide)—the God-stone! usually found associated with other sulfides or oxides in quartz veins; Moh's hardness is 6 to 6.5; (modern "Fool's Gold"). "Pyrite is a common accessory mineral in sedimentary rocks, particularly in limestone…"

Pyrite literally means "spark stone": πυρίτης (λίθος)!

Because it produced sparks of fire/light when struck by flint, ancients believed that pyrite was believed to be flakes of inherently supernatural gods-flesh! "The yellow paint and/or gold leaf used on masks were symbolic of the physical manifestation of this [mummification] transformation as the flesh of the gods was made of gold, an incorruptible metal." . Indeed, in the early Egyptian Dynasty, BCC (Before Chemical Composition was known), silver was more valuable the real gold (Au), which, because it could not produce sparks, was likely regarded by the ancient's as the fake gold—the "real gold" being pyrite because it seemed to them inherently supernatural fire. Hence, pyrite was certainly more valuable than real Au gold, which, being malleable and eternal (despite lack of inherent supernatural fire), was also increasingly valuable as decorative representation of eternalness.

As believed supernatural Flakes of Gods Skin, some modern superstitions regarding pyrite may have ancient roots. Wearing of a believed "Flake of supernatural Gods Skin" amulet may have been associated with enveloping the wearer, or a house believed to be so protected, in a supernatural skin-like "aura" protector and shield against illnesses and incoming "bad vibes"—which is idolatry, of course.

cBCE 50,000 Neanderthals Make Fire

In 2018, Sorenson, et al. "inferred from microwear analysis… that the occasional use of bifaces as ‘strike-a-lights’ was a technocultural feature shared among the late Neandertals"

Percussion Ignition

"In percussion [ignition] fire making, hard, sharp flint shatters the pyrite surface into microscopic particles, breaking its covalent bonds and releasing heat. Now exposed to atmospheric oxygen, these already hot [iron] pyrite particles [immediately] oxidize and release even more heat. Because this heat is released too quickly to dissipate, it forms a shower of visible sparks."

Æsh-Making
Pyrite As The First Percussive Ignition

"The first mineral-sparking material was pyrite, or iron disulfide. The striking material was flint, a form of microcrystalline quartz. Harder than pyrite, flint could be easily shaped into a striking edge. When flint strikes pyrite, part of the pyrite surface shatters and emits a shower of sparks, which can ignite dry tinder…

"Pyrite's Role in the Firing Process

"Pyrite is unstable and undergoes slow oxidation, combining with water and atmospheric oxygen to break down into ions of iron and sulfur, which ultimately recombine into sulfuric acid and various iron hydroxides. This slow, natural process emits much heat…

"In percussion fire making, hard, sharp flint shatters the pyrite surface into microscopic particles, breaking its covalent bonds and releasing heat. Now exposed to atmospheric oxygen, these already hot pyrite particles instantaneously oxidize and release even more heat. Because this heat is released too quickly to dissipate, it forms a shower of visible sparks.
A similar process occurs in flint-steel percussion… When struck with flint, the steel’s [iron] bonds separate, fragmenting the [iron molecule of the steel] and releasing heat. These tiny particles of hot [iron] then contact atmospheric oxygen and undergo complete, instantaneous oxidation, releasing additional heat in the form of visible sparks."

"Iron sulfide deposits are a flammable hazard… Pyrophoric Iron (FeS) is a form of iron sulfide that combusts on exposure to oxygen; in this case with air… The oxidation of the sulfide anion by the oxygen in the air releases a tremendous amount of heat. The amount of heat can be enough to make the iron deposits glow red. While the iron itself cannot catch fire, if there is a fuel source present (e.g., residual oils, hydrocarbon gases), the heat created is adequate to ignite the fuel source…"

Iron is pyrophoric. Chemical "Reaction of iron with air: Iron reacts with oxygen, O2, forming Fe(II) and Fe(III) oxides. The oxide layers do not passivate the surface. Finely divided iron, e.g. powder or iron wool, can burn:
4 Fe(s) + 3 O2(g) → 2 Fe2O3(s)
3 Fe(s) + 2 O2(g) → Fe3O4(s)

(Yᵊkhë•zᵊq•ælꞋ perceives ËrꞋëtz Yi•sᵊr•ã•ælꞋ as the QōꞋdësh ha-Qã•dãsh•imꞋ and, therefore, mëlꞋëkh Tzūr, the neighbor on the north, controlling the Mediterranean Sea buffer to the west, as paralleling the apotropaic kᵊrūv of Shᵊm•ōtꞋ 25.20.)

14. "You [Tzūr ] are a kᵊrūv the apotropaic מִמְשַׁ֖ח; so I allowed you on Har QōꞋdësh of ël•ōh•imꞋ, to be walking among the אַבְנֵי־אֵ֖שׁ.‎ 15. You had an unblemished record from the day you were created until an ãꞋwël was found in you. 16. "In the bulk of your international voyages, brutality and missteps filled your midst; so I evacuated you from har ël•ōh•imꞋ and caused you to suffer the loss of being among אַבְנֵי־אֵ֖שׁ."

There's no doubt that אַבְנֵי־אֵ֖שׁ refers to fire-sparkers; people who "sparked fire" in others for the Omniscient described by Avᵊrã•hãmꞋ and Mōsh•ëhꞋ (in contrast to all other qa•nãyꞋim of אֵשׁ-ël•ōh•imꞋ; see æsh, more). What distinguished Yi•sᵊr•ã•eilꞋ from the gōyꞋim was, is today, and shall always be defined as those who are "on fire" for the bᵊrit of Avᵊrã•hãmꞋ and Har Sin•aiꞋ in Ta•na״khꞋ—like Hi•lælꞋ ha-Za•qænꞋ, ha-Nã•siꞋ and the Riyb"y; not the "religious" QōꞋrakh clergy of Bᵊn•æꞋ-KhōꞋshëkh, but a pragmatic realist, pursuing education and the latest knowledge, cognizant that science is the realm of the Omniscient!
