2000.05.11 The Jerusalem Post (p. 2) – "In Ram•atꞋ Beit ShêmꞋêsh, secular residents demonstrated against the burning of Israeli flags by Kha•reid•imꞋ in the neighborhood several days earlier. [Police spokesperson Shᵊmu•eilꞋ Bên-Ruby] said a group of Kha•reid•imꞋ residents demonstrated on the opposite side of the road and police prevented any confrontation.
"On [Day2], flyers were posted in Yᵊru•shâ•laꞋyim's Ki•kârꞋ Sha•bâtꞋ condemning the siren marking the beginning of memorial events for Remembrance Day for the Fallen of Israel’s Wars. The same evening police pulled down a 'Palestinian' flag hanging from the veranda of a house in MeiꞋah Shᵊar•imꞋ [the primary ultra-Orthodox neighborhood in Yᵊru•shâ•laꞋyim]. Yesterday, another 'Palestinian' flag was put up in the neighborhood."
