Pre-Viking Origin Of The 6ᵗʰ-Century CE "Sun(god)Stone"?

Many pre-Greek histories have been buried by Hellenist-heritage ("Classical Greece"), European academic authorities because they arrogantly self-identified "their own" Europe as the "only true and authoritative" expression of Classic Greek ultimate knowledge, culture and religion. Ergo, they assumed that they are intellectually and religiously superior, i.e. European-supremacist racists. Accordingly, they curtly dismissed claims by alternate, assumed "lesser" (ergo assumed false) religions, cultures and civilizations. Like their insistence on Greek "scripture", dismissing Hebrew Ta•n״kh´, the sunstone spotlights yet-another casualty of cavalier arts-degreed historians, linguists & archaeologists.

Post-LBAC  (i.e. subsequent to the "Greek Dark Age") Greece emerged from the knowledge and technology of several civilizations that preceded them. These civilizations and their achievements have thusly remained hidden from us until, in our current 21ˢᵗ century, scientists have begun collaborating; breaking through the divisive fantasms of race, culture and religion through scientific (logical) philosophy (in contrast to religion).

Interestingly, if the Ha•tᵊ•tū´sha encountered Danish or Norwegian traders in the British Isles, they may have learned how to navigate in open waters using "optical" (birefringent) crystal calcite (CaCO₃) "Sunstone" (אֶבֶן שֶׁמֶשׁ), complementing—and precisifying—the earlier (pre-magnetic) sun-dial compass.

Detractors argue that no crystal calcite has ever been discovered on a sunken shipwreck prior to 11.1592 CE. They (illogically, ignorantly and wrongly) argue that, due to sparsity of evidence, Occam’s Razor "logically" argues against the use of the sunstone in very ancient times—despite evidence of otherwise inexplicable ancient marine navigation by the Vikings and even the Ha•tᵊ•tū´sha in pre-Biblical times!

Detractors relying on such thinking are not using logic! Occam’s Razor is a frequently misunderstood and abused heuristic, not a law of logic! To simplify, this heuristic says no more than to minimize reliance on unknowns while remaining heedful that more information could upset the assumed position. It also turns out that the Occam’s Razor heuristic says the same about every theory in science! Most people, however, have better heuristics (common sense) than to jump of a high cliff without any special equipment, expecting—against the incomplete evidence—that gravity may have a hole enabling the jumper to fall up and sit on a cloud. That, too, cannot be logically proven otherwise. But the Occam’s Razor heuristic holds such gambling to be an unwise risk that is likely wrong. It is never logical in the face of incomplete evidence (like most of science) to assume the opposite of the predominant weight of evidence simply because the evidence is incomplete, or even sparse!

The instance of the sunstone is a valid such case in which Occam’s Razor heuristic is in order. The discovery of a sunstone next to navigational instruments on the Alderney shipwreck demonstrates that the sunstone was more likely than not used in conjunction with a handheld wooden "sun(dial) compass" for navigation on the high seas perhaps eons before the first recorded appearance of the use of the magnetic compass in Europe (1190 CE). The opposite of what the Occam’s Razor heuristic suggests is Poof! Magic. Supernatural. That thinking has fueled Alien Civilizations theories, space people on earth, theories of humans having originated in some far star system, etc. Common sense (the Occam’s Razor heuristic) advises to rely on the weight of evidence until the weight of evidence points otherwise. Ergo, the Ha•tᵊ•tū´sha, later joined by the TzūrꞋ and Yi•sᵊr•ã•eil´.

Secondly, a sun(dial) compass was discovered on a sunken ship in the Mediterranean Sea, dated to ≈3.3 ka (≈BCE 1300), 5 mi. off the coast of Ülü Burun (Cape Grande), southwestern Turkey.

The kicker is that, unlike the Classical Theory of gravity (which remains in contradiction to Quantum Theory), there is no contradictory evidence that the sunstone was not used in ancient marine navigation!

One of the main techniques to solve a cryptogram is to notice when an experimental substitution seems to better fit an overall message. This applies as well to the application of the Occam’s Razor heuristic. The Ha•tᵊ•tū´sha are known to have navigated the open seas of the Mediterranean long before Europeans discovered the magnetic compass—posing an event having no known way to occur—except that the sunstone is plausible. They plied merchant marine trade routes from perhaps as far as the British Isles, or even farther up the coast to Denmark and Norway, they routinely crisscrossed the high seas of the Mediterranean, trading with, colonizing and sourcing the natural resources of stopover-islands en route. So the choice is: there is an explanation vs aliens did it! Yet, there's no physical evidence of aliens, much less tourist selfies.

Millennia later, in BCE 11ᵗʰ century, partnering with Shᵊlōm´ōh ha-Mël´ëkh, together the Israelis and Ha•tᵊ•tū´sha built a second fleet operating out of Port Eil•at´ (in modern Southern Israel on the Red Sea), thereby extending merchant trade routes (with a short land-hop through southern Israel from Port Ash´qᵊlōn to Port Æ•lat´) as far as the southwest coast of India. All this while some archaeologists are still trying to figure out how the first humans ("Out of Africa") Poof! appeared in Europe on the north side of the Mediterranean ≈45 Ka (≈42.5 Ka before, some still maintain) even coracles were invented (≈BCE 2,500)!!!

Even if the Ha•tᵊ•tū´sha learned how to navigate with the Sunstone, however, they almost certainly would not have ventured into the violent & hostile North Sea at this early time in naval architecture! On the other hand, this (millennia later) Norse Viking "Sunstone" (even later named "Icelandic spar"), plentiful in ancient Norway, is currently the most plausible explanation of how the Ha•tᵊ•tū´sha navigated the open sea of the Mediterranean before the discovery of the magnetic compass. So… sunstone compass with plausible science-compatible explanation? Or aliens from space? Roll eyes (Further details where to purchase a Sunstone and how to use, and make, a sun compass (even use an ordinary wristwatch as a compass) are available on the net.)
