Ruins of the Ancient Beit ha-Kәnës′ ët ha-Nәtzârim
1st-2nd century Netzarim Beit K'nesset: Re-used stones probably from Second Temple

The foundations of "David's Tomb" on Har Tziyon in Yәrushalayim incorporate the ruins of the original, first-century, Beit-Din ha-Nәtzârim, in which Paqid Ya·aqov "ha-Tzadiq" prayed with the original Nәtzarim and convened the first Nәtzarim Beit-Din. Tradition holds that Dawid ha-melekh — representing the Mashiakh — rests in this original Beit-ha-Kәnësët ha-Nәtzârim (see Biblical Archaeology Review, 90.05-06, XVI.3, p. 16ff).

How does one pray toward Yәrushâ•layim?

Jews don't pray facing east! That's sun worship! Jews pray toward Yәrushâ•layim (see Mәlâkh•im Âlëph 8:34, 44 , 48; and Div•rei ha-Yâm•im Beit 6:34.) If that happens to be east, then ok. But in Brisbane, Australia, Jews pray facing approximately northwest and in the U.S. state of Oregon approximately northeast; while in Sweden, Jews pray approximately southeast.

Answer: Use Google Earth (or a globe & string) to find the direction of the shortest line to Yәrushâ•layim

The answer will probably surprise you. (You can ask an airline pilot or navy navigator to help you find the direction of the arc of the "great circle" between you and Yәrushâ•layim. But pulling a string taut on a globe between where you pray and Yәrushâ•layim will do well enough. Then you may need to consult a compass to see which way that direction is from where you pray.)
